Very enjoyable. We started out with stuffed mushrooms as appetizer comes with 3 pieces they tasted great. Then I had the long island chowder and my husband had the lobster bisque both were served in small bowls they were creamy and delicious. My entree was fried fish sandwich with fries and coleslaw. My husbands entree was medley of seafood with side of zucchini and rice. Both our entrees were tasty and the serving was enough. Finally we had the famous fried ice cream which was a nice treat and so was the key lime pie. Both desserts were amazing. The server was extremely nice always had a smile on her face, constantly checking on us. This is our 3rd time visiting here and it won't be the last.

Chowder Bar is tucked in between the ferry and parking lots, but CB has passed the test of time with being around since 1946. This place is showing it's age but that adds to the ambiance, giving you that old rustic fishing boat feeling/decor making everything taste better.
There are a bunch of soups/bisque's and some awards have been won, so be prepared to make several visits if you want to try them all. We had the seafood bisque, it was kinda cheesy, full of seafood flavor, very nice consistency, and some pieces of what seemed like imitation crab(I think). So I'd highly recommend trying their "soup/bisque flight" and sample a few at a time( I will for sure, see pic).
I noticed a "Fishwich" on the menu, something I will surely be back for...
Anyway you look at it the, owners (usually on hand and very friendly too) have kept this place going strong for a long time.

Incredible food and service! Met one of the owners, Lynda, who was super kind and personable!! The Long Island clam chowder is THE BEST CHOWDER I've ever had! 😋 The cherrystone clams and Blue Point oysters were delicious and shucked well!! Such a cute and charming maritime ambiance by the water. Lovely experience! Will definitely be back!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!!!!

Nice little place that was built in 1947. It has that kind of charming vibe. The Long Island chowder is a mix of new England and Manhattan styles and is possibly the best clam chowder I've ever had. The shrimp and flounder are not overly spiced which allows the breading and obviously fresh seafood flavors to shine through. The hot apple crisp with icecream was a treat. Highly recommended.
